چکیده
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects grazing on soil gross nitrification (GN) and denitrification (DN) rates environmental factors GN DN in desert grassland northern China. Soil samples were collected from July November 2017 March June 2018, with 5-5 taken three enclosures (CK) vs. heavy-grazing (G) randomized treatment blocks. We determined: (1) moisture (SM), pH, bulk density (BD), total nitrogen (TN), organic carbon (SOC), inorganic (IN, NH4+-N, NO3−-N) content, (2) DN. relationship between changes GN, DN, environment analyzed using stepwise multiple-regression analysis. Gross nitrification, BD, C/N, SM, IN, NO3−-N varied significantly by month. Grazing induced significant increases SM NO3− only. CK related NH4+-N NO3−-N, while G SM. C/N. Additionally, had obvious seasonal variations reached a maximum July. This highlights different underlying mechanisms that affect dynamics, particularly system.

effects of nitrogen application on soil nitrification and denitrification rates and n2o emissions in greenhouse
nitrous oxide (n2o) has significant impact on global warming and leads to the depletion of ozone in the stratosphere. agricultural soil is regarded as a major source of n2o emissions. in recent years, greenhouse grown vegetables have rapidly developed in china. although excessive fertilizer application in greenhouse vegetable production can result in increased n2o emissions, research data on su...
متن کاملEffect of Grazing Exclusion on Vegetation Characteristics and Soil Organic Carbon of Leymus chinensis Grassland in Northern China
Overgrazing has caused vegetation destruction and soil degradation in Leymus chinensis grassland, the widely distributed type of grassland in northern China. To restore the degraded ecosystem, grazing exclusion was implemented in 1979, 1999, and 2004. However, changes in the vegetation and soil organic carbon (SOC) in different years of grazing exclusion have not been thoroughly elucidated. Thi...
متن کاملArchaeal Ammonia Oxidizers Dominate in Numbers, but Bacteria Drive Gross Nitrification in N-amended Grassland Soil
Both ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) play an important role in nitrification in terrestrial environments. Most often AOA outnumber AOB, but the relative contribution of AOA and AOB to nitrification rates remains unclear. The aim of this experiment was to test the hypotheses that high nitrogen availability would favor AOB and result in high gross nitrificatio...
متن کاملQuantitative evaluation of the effect of prohibiting grazing policy on grassland desertification reversal in northern China
In northern China, the recent eco-environment protective policies played a very important role in the ecological environment protection and rehabilitation. To better understand the quantitative effect of the prohibiting grazing policy on grassland desertification reversal process, in this paper, Yanchi County was selected as a case study to conduct a quantitative research on the effect of prohi...
متن کاملTemperature and soil moisture interactively affected soil net N mineralization in temperate grassland in Northern China
Intact soil cores from three adjacent sites (Site A: grazed, Site B: fenced for 4 years, and Site C: fenced for 24 years) were incubated in the laboratory to examine effects of temperature, soil moisture, and their interactions on net nitrification and N mineralization rates in the Inner Mongolia grassland of Northern China. Incubation temperature significantly influenced net nitrification and ...
